Hit three solid vaults on my 13’7″ 160 pole. Way too soft, don’t quite have the balls to hit the bigger pole right now. Gotta build up an aerobic base first. But hey, at least I didn’t forget how to vault…
I’m not going to touch a pole for the next three weeks. Minimum.
See me there,
Later!

Battling a nice storm over at UNH, we lost power all over campus. Luckily, the field house got power restored by mid day and I hit up the track.
I did a quick upper-body weight lifting workout, including:
- Bench Press <150lbs just to feel a burn. Nice fast reps.
- Curls
- Behind the neck, lateral pull downs
- And a few more…
Then I hit up the track and did a 5x 55 meter accelerators and 5x full approach simulating a take off.
Solid day!

Taking today off… but not all of it!
Heading back to the track tonight to do a 4×160 meter workout. Then I’ll recover and hit some pole runs, standing plants, and see what else I can come up with.
Here are the results for America East Conference from this indoor season. Looks like I’m gonna have to pull off a 15′ jump to be a contender. Can it be done? Of course.
Edit:It turned out to be a quick one. Lab at 7, and it’s pouring out. Absolutely pouring. My shirt was soaked, through my jacket. Off to class…

I’m going to follow my brother in law’s color scheme… All Black. Sorta.

And these spikes.

I started off small for the start of the season. Didn’t want to kill myself, plus today’s my easy day!
I did a quick mile warm up and got to the track. I ran 10 full approaches at full speed with very explosive jumps at the end. I was very satisfied. I got back to the Whit and did a quick med ball and abs routine. Did a few box jumps as well just to get the blood pumping. My main goal at the moment is getting into superior cardiovascular shape.
I’ll go back at it tomorrow morning at 6:45am with my neighbor and friend. They’re my unofficial eating coaches and workout partners. We’ll be doing a spin-off of Istvan Javorek’s “Big Fun Workout”. I lost the only copy in existence, but I had written a lot of it down. Barbell complexes and explosive lifts, here I come!
Solid start. I’m pleased. I didn’t lose as much as I thought I might have in my abbreviated retirement.
